Gaon Se Shahar Tak

Kalua, a poor peasant is burdened by debt. When his bull dies and his crop fails he seeks to borrow more money from the village money lender. The money lender and the landlord conspire and force Kalua to part with the little land he has. Left with no source of livelihood in the village Kalua migrates to the city. There he meets another migrant worker who is expoited by a government clerk who is facing difficulties due to inflation. The play ends with a call for unity among the expoited against the exploiters.
